Win64/Expiro is a severe, parasitic file-infector malware that attaches itself to Windows executable (.exe) files, compromising system security, lowering browser security settings, and stealing user credentials. It commonly causes slow performance, crashes, and unauthorized file modifications. Due to the high risk of widespread infection, a clean Windows installation is often recommended.

We shouldn't scare average users, but rather give them advice. I've been debugging the Windows kernel for years and can confirm that it's no more exceptional than others.
Good habits are the best protection. For example, my system and my data (including those managed by Windows, Desktop, Documents, Pictures, etc.) are separate from the system. In case of even a deep infection, I don't even need to repair it; it only takes me 10 minutes to restore. A daily backup of just the system also takes 10 minutes.
